A fast, SEO-first marketing site built with Astro

This is a real, verifiable project — the site you’re reading. The cover uses an illustrative mockup; a real screenshot can be dropped in via the cover field.

The problem

A multidisciplinary engineer needed a marketing site that does three jobs at once: generate qualified leads, rank in both classic search and AI answer engines, and establish credibility — without the bloat and slow loads of a typical agency template.

The approach

I built it as a static-first site engineered around speed and discoverability:

• Astro SSG — every page is pre-rendered to clean, crawlable HTML, shipping essentially zero JavaScript by default. Interactivity (the systems-map, forms, calculators) is added only as tiny islands.
• SEO + GEO — per-page titles, descriptions, canonicals and Open Graph; a full structured-data layer (Organization, Person with credentials, Service, FAQPage, BlogPosting, HowTo, DefinedTerm, Breadcrumb); answer-first TL;DR blocks, FAQs and a glossary built for AI extraction; plus sitemap, robots, llms.txt and IndexNow.
• Lead generation — a progressively-enhanced contact form, Calendly booking, WhatsApp, and reused CTAs, with analytics events on each.
• Design system — a distinctive “engineered & human” identity with custom duotone illustrations and an interactive systems-map signature, all driven by CSS design tokens.

The stack

Astro, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, with MDX content collections, hand-written JSON-LD, and Web3Forms for the contact form — deployable as static files on any CDN.

The result

A fast, fully static site (52 pages and growing) built to hit top Core Web Vitals, with comprehensive structured data for search and AI engines, accessible to WCAG AA, and engineered to turn visitors into booked calls — all cheap to host and easy to extend.
